To anyone who had been in Slateport the last few days, they would see a multitude of pride posters plastered wherever they could be seen, advertising a festival for the fifth.

Once the day itself came around, the upper district of Slateport was a flurry of colors and excitement. A few makeshift venders were set up, giving out or selling anything pride-related to anyone who came close enough. Some remainders of rainbow confetti was already scattered across the streets, and a few different pride flags hung just out of reach. A few vendors are also giving out water and any food-related items, should anyone need them, and there are a few food trucks parked nearby, offering sweets and foods that would usually be found at carnivals but are now here.

aries, usually, wouldn't come to stuff like this. she has better things to do (like get ready for her job, later) but she had made one mistake in letting mention of it slip, even briefly, to her sisters. from there it had been a flurry of messages encouraging her to go- ones that, if the buzz of her phone said anything, had picked up again the day of pride.

they were nothing if not insistent, convinced that she would make a friend (she doesn't plan to stay that long) or see someone cute (absolutely not going to happen), enough that she had eventually given in, if reluctantly. already, she was making up excuses to tell her sisters; it was boring, it was too crowded. or, honestly, the most honest of them all- she didn't really see a point in going herself and that it was too much. she was already uncomfortable.

she'd just get a picture of the festival itself as proof she even went and then leave. it shouldn't be that hard, at least, even if she's already dreading having to make her way through the crowd again.

She hadn’t planned to go to the Slateport Pride festival thing, but with the day here she had to make a decision. At first, she had thought of excuses to not go. One of the strongest arguments is that she should not display her preferences so clearly given the name and weight it carried. But then a thought crossed her mind why shouldn’t she go? Why shouldn’t she display her preferences? Just like she had discussed with her mother so many moons ago, there was not a singular Joy template to be followed.

No, she would take pride in this, embrace it, and be the Joy she wanted to be. At least for today. And that’s how she found herself at the Slateport Pride, alone. Dressed in an outfit that screamed ‘include me please’ with its neon rainbow-colored unzipped-hoodie with ‘Slateport Pride’ smeared across its back in fancy letters on top of a black tank-top, and black short shorts to match. Rainbow- shades resting gently on the bridge of her nose, looking neat in front while her braided-blue twin tails swayed most of the way down her back.

She truly looked like someone who couldn’t decide whether to go full Pride or keep her punk-rock style pure. This would be the truth since most of the rainbow accessories were things she had just bought to fit in when she arrived.

Now standing just at the edge of the crowd, she realized maybe going here alone wasn’t the brightest idea. She felt a bit nervous, hesitant even to join the festivities. If only she had someone like Megan here to push her to take the final step. Luckily as she looked around here, there seemed to be people facing a similar ordeal. She pondered making contact, but for now, she didn’t do so.

He'd not been to a pride festival before but it sounded lie ka good time overall. It was all about celebrating people and their differences right? It's a party, when he arrived. Everything is bright and colorful. And Mint found he had no trouble at all blending in, his usual style of dress bright anyway. The music is loud, the chattering is non stop. The smell of food wasn't as strong as he thought it'd be but he could already see a section for little shops to set up booths. Gods, yes. He would never skip out the opportunity to window shop. He was already beelining for the little stalls and shops when he managed to bump into another festival goer. His grin flattered as he let out a small 'OOF-' before turning back to Johanna Joy and frowning. "I'm sorry- I got carried away I think." he could've sworn he would've gotten past her. something about the way the crowd moved or swelled had probably done it. "Just got real excited about deals is all." he added, as if that would excuse it. Nevertheless he was already pointing at the miniature bazaar up ahead. "Have you been?" He added, pointing at the SLATEPORT PRIDE merch she was wearing. He needed to get one of those. "It's my first time, so I wanna get a 2022 t-shirt to commemorate!"

She hadn’t expected to be bumped into. But as she was trying to find a group to latch onto, she found herself suddenly getting well acquittance with the person known as Mint Frost or rather the momentum of Mint Frost.

Mouth open ready to say a few choice words. However, Mint was faster. Quick to apologize, defusing the situation in an instant. Her mouth quickly turned into an excited smile. Even Johanna couldn’t stay mildly annoyed with the atmosphere of festivity in the air.

She readjusted the shades upon the bridge of her nose as she spoke. “Oh, if that’s the case. I think you should hurry over there. The line is pretty long, and T-shirts are definitely the most popular item there.” She pointed in the direction of the stall where she bought her items from. Though as she gazed toward the stall, she realized the moving crowd made it pretty hard to notice where the line began.
